Dean Logan - Owner & Artist

Firstly, thank you for visiting my website.

As a carpenter / joiner and artist, I appreciate how tough the journey can be for many artists. You fail more times than you succeed and then get negatively judged for a piece you painstakingly spent hours perfecting. Art for me is totally about perception and taste. What one person adores, others loathe. And I get that.

I grew up in the South West of Tasmania. My family were bushmen with my grandfather running bullock teams throughout the southern forests. Timber and fine furniture making is in my blood. We were surrounded by tools, work shops and minor species timber like black wood, king billy and celery top pine.

The mountains and the Australian bush is home for me. And so I now take 30 years of creativity to shape,  design and showcase the unique Australian bush for clients globally.

My focus is on excellence, uniqueness and authentic. So let me explain the why:

  • Excellence: The process I use is complex. Mixing mediums like resin with organic materials is extremely difficult. I need to use pressurised vessels to achieve a seamless finish - it’s not as simple as mixing, pouring and using a hair dryer. And then, I take pride in NOT smothering the finish with hard finishes. I seek to achieve a glowing finish but with some original texture.

  • Uniqueness: I take the finest products ethically from the Australian wilderness. The products I use are found only in key areas of Australia. Banksia: Western Australia, Tasmanian oak: Tasmania, Jarrah: Western Australia.

  • Authentic: Walk into any home design retail shop and you’ll find mass-produced items deemed ‘artwork’ everywhere. When you buy my products you buy one-off designs that no one else has. Every piece is authentic.

So enjoy my website and thank you for taking the time to drop by.

If there is a piece you like, or an idea you’d like me to explore for you, reach out. I’m happy to do commission pieces for the right client.

So throw some ideas my way and let’s see if we can’t design something for you that is truly unique. Something no one else in the world has.

Now that right there, is what it means to be an artist…. :-)

Kind regards

Dean Logan

Our Approach to Delivering Projects

We’ve project managed millions of dollars of projects for the most respected companies. Companies who demand excellence and we delivered every time. So what makes us stand-out?

Before we highlight our differences, allow us to provide a rather honest disclaimer: the following is a spoiler alert. But like we often say to clients, we don’t need the headaches and nor do you.

  1. We refuse to work with trades or companies who don’t value communication.

  2. Our trades turn up on time and do exactly what they say they will do. They also go the extra mile for our clients.

  3. We DO NOT have cosy relationships with wholesalers. We DO NOT take inducements, commissions or accept corporate tickets at stadiums.

  4. ATM trades are owed hundreds of thousands by builders. We get cash flow concerns, but when you work with the best trades, you need to honour them and value their workmanship. So, we pay progress payments fortnightly - end of story. If clients are not happy with this, we simply decline to take on the job.

  5. We always hold retention.

  6. We love what we do and so will politely decline to take on a job for a client who we believe is arrogant, hard-work or rude. We’ve delivered for the richest people in Australia, exported hand-crafted artistic pieces around the world and repaired doors for residents in retirement villages. We are here to serve and deliver quality outcomes for nice people. We don’t need the hassle and your bank balance is irrelevant. So we will - if we’re not feeling it - decline the opportunity.
